1- Where is the band from and what's the best thing to do there?
We are from Austin, Texas. The best thing to do here is to go see some live music at a big outdoor bar, drink a cold beer and visit with your friends.
2- What does your band name stand for and what was the runner up?
We named our band after our wolf dogs, we have a pack of rescues in Texas. The runner up was "Ghost Wolf" but we turned it around to make it cooler.
3- Describe your sound using a movie title.
Pulp Fiction
4- What song would describe each member of the band?
Jonny "Don't Worry Be Happy" (Bobby McFerrin)
Carley "Blueberry Hill" (Fats Domino)
5- Name 3 bands who would headline your dream fest?
Iggy Pop, Tom Waits, Patti Smith
6- Your opinion on being described as "female fronted"?
It's the truth, isn't it? We don't see anything wrong with it or take offense.
7- Are you signed on a label and why?
We work with a lot of labels and aren't exclusive to any of them, but most recently we put out music with Third Man Records and Dirty Water Records. We have a new single coming out on Lunch Records soon too. The labels we've been on are into music for the same reasons as us - to put creations that deserve attention out in the world, regardless of the money or making a profit on it. We work with labels because we think DIY is a bit of a myth. It will only get you so far. At a certain point, you realize that the best accomplishments are achieved through teamwork. You surround yourself with good people, work hard together and you can go much further. We want the most people possible to join us in our world.
8- What's the most punk thing you've seen on tour/in a show?
We went on tour with the Dead Boys 2 or 3 years ago for like 4 weeks opening the shows. They were doing their reunion with Johnny Blitz and Cheetah Chrome, the original members, plus a really great cast of dudes filling in the other roles. The whole tour dripped punk rock, but one really memorable show was in this really strange rural part of Pennsylvania that is really red neck and kinda rough. We played a VFW hall, which is sort a big community center. There were a lot of biker type guys around and 300-400 people showed up. The sound was really awful, we had an OK set, but when Dead Boys came up, they only made it through one or two songs before the vocal mics started cutting out. Some skinhead guy in the front row grabbed and punched the lead singer, Jake (Stiv). There was a big scuffle and then the band went backstage, which was actually this big industrial kitchen. They were refusing to come back on stage until the sound got fixed and the skinhead got removed. We were standing out to the side of the stage behind the merch table. See, people had paid like $50 a head to get into this, and that was a lot in this area, and they were really pissed about the band leaving. So the crowd started to get rowdy and kind of felt like a riot was going to happen. They were yelling and getting a bit violent. We got a little worried so we started packing our merchandise up and moving our shit out to the van through the side door! The promoter came running by with a bag in his arms and went backstage. I guess he convinced Dead Boys to go back up with the money that was in the bag. They came back out to play finally and Jake had a giant cast iron frying pan in his hands!!! He held it with him on stage all night and after the show!!! If anyone attacked him he was going to beat the shit out of them! That was a really punk show.
