1- Where is the band from and what's the best thing to do there? We're from a little hill in the middle of nowhere near a village called Tomintoul in the North of Scotland. It's pretty remote, and there isn't really much to do in the actual village. There's no music scene or anything. I think the population is about 700 people or something. The village has 3 shops, a little museum and a pub basically, haha. But, there's a lot of nice walks here. We also really like foraging for food and it's great for things like that up here! 2- What does your band name stand for and what was the runner up? The word Bratakus is totally made up. It was a jokey name our Dad would call us if we were behaving badly when we were younger. So, it just means the same as 'brat'. We get a lot of people asking if it's German or Latin or something!   1- What does this album mean to you? It means everything. It’s our first full-length album and we chose to go 100% DIY, an amazing decision in the end because we got to choose who we wanted to work with and we took part in all the different steps. We all have other projects but this one is our baby and we made it sound exactly like we wanted. 2- Why "Forever Is Now"? Because it reflected the present mood of the world and the feeling we were in when we wrote the album. It’s a feeling of living in the now and to the fullest. It just made sense, the songs just came without second thoughts. 3- Where was it recorded and who produced it? We decided to isolate ourselves in the deep of St-Zénon, Quebec at Wild Studio.   2020 has brought its fair share of changes and challenges in everyone’s lives to say the least, and for former Pussy Stench members Alice Slick and Mike , this is no different. The band had amassed a considerable following in the local hardcore punk scene before finally dissolving during the pandemic. But with times of change comes also the opportunity to adapt and evolve. Now having formed Scarlet Wives with drummer Zena and celebrating the release of their first single, they’re all embracing the process of moving forward and of sharing their passion for their craft with an optimism for the future. The album is the first full-length release of our band and also the first album I have ever recorded although I have been playing in bands since I was a teenager. I remember how I was sitting at home, writing all the guitar riffs and lyrics, and now we have turned them into songs and people around the world can listen to them, it’s incredible. 2. Why self-titled? We have always referred to the record as ‘the album’. The band name ‘Passionless Pointless’ already tells a lot about our approach to music. All of the songs speak of great passion for both playing music and reflecting upon personal relationships, passionless = pointless. 3. Where was it recorded and who produced it? 1- Where is the band from and what's the best thing to do there? Angela: We are based out of Salem, MA (also known as “Witch City” to many because of the Witch Trials) north of Boston. But also consider ourselves a Boston Band- I’ve lived there, Jill lives there. Salem is a dope City-Town with cobblestone streets, antique colorful homes, lots of places to eat and drink and be merry. Very easy to fall in love with. We have a couple awesome music venues that do lots of punk, indie, metal music. The best deal is to come in the warm season, take the train or ferry in, hit up the beach and then a show later. And of course, we have one of the biggest Halloween celebrations around. Come by next fall and we’ll be your tour guide. 1. What does this album mean to you? We Are Girls is our debut album, so it's very special to us! We are already so proud of what we have achieved with the release. 2. Why "We are girls"? Sometimes the word girl gets used in a negative way, well this is a celebration of being a GIRL! 3. Where was it recorded and who produced it? The album was recorded and mixed by Jay Hills at West Street Studios, Bristol. We selfed produced the album alongside Jay, who was great at achieving the sounds we wanted. I would give him some vague description of an effect or show him a rough demo or reference track and he'd take that and turn our songs into exactly what I'd imagined. 4. One moment that happened during its recording, that you will never forget? Recording the crowd vocals on Death Party was a lot of fun.
