The Last Mile is a hardcore punk band from Montreal, who just released the first single off their debut full length album, "Respect The Frequency" , so we thought it was the perfect time to talk with bassist Stephanie Cole , to learn more about the band and where they are from. The Last Mile first existed in 2015 as Chris Snelgrove and The Last Mile . I met Chris, who is the guitarist/vocalist in TLM, in 2015 when I was on tour out here from B.C., where I'm originally from. Chris booked our show in Montreal. In summer of 2016, Chris asked me to join his band for a tour of Mexico and Costa Rica later that year. I had never been offered anything like that before! 1- Where is the band from and what's the best thing to do there? We're from a little hill in the middle of nowhere near a village called Tomintoul in the North of Scotland. It's pretty remote, and there isn't really much to do in the actual village. There's no music scene or anything. I think the population is about 700 people or something. The village has 3 shops, a little museum and a pub basically, haha. But, there's a lot of nice walks here. We also really like foraging for food and it's great for things like that up here! 2- What does your band name stand for and what was the runner up? The word Bratakus is totally made up.   1- What does this album mean to you? It means everything. It’s our first full-length album and we chose to go 100% DIY, an amazing decision in the end because we got to choose who we wanted to work with and we took part in all the different steps. We all have other projects but this one is our baby and we made it sound exactly like we wanted. 2- Why "Forever Is Now"? Because it reflected the present mood of the world and the feeling we were in when we wrote the album. It’s a feeling of living in the now and to the fullest. It just made sense, the songs just came without second thoughts. 3- Where was it recorded and who produced it? We decided to isolate ourselves in the deep of St-Zénon, Quebec at Wild Studio. We worked with the amazing Marc Chartrain and Simon Kearney as co-producers. Guillaume Chartrain was on the board, sound engineering.
